IMNSHO, God is not in everything, God is everything. Neither male nor female, because male and female (as we use them, to refer to traits) are just words. We are one. All of us together (I include all you animals, vegetables, minerals, space, and space people? too) make up
God.

I could lists hundreds of more examples of the good The Church and Christians have done in this world over the last 2000 years.

However regardless of the good or the bad things done in the name of God, we have to look at the truth of the facts of who Jesus is and what He taught. Jesus didn't teach violence, he taught we are to love people as we love ourselves and that we are to do so because we love God. He said we are even to love our enemies and do good to those who persecute us, so nothing on your list is in line with the teachings of Jesus.

So they cannot be referenced as the cause of these things.

I agree with what you said about the Bible sending mixed messages about the Creator. The Creator is Spirit...ergo it does not have the personality or ego of a mere human. I would suggest some further reading because there is a plethora of evidence supporting the authenticity of the Scriptures. See Josh McDowell's "New Evidence that Demands a Verdict." Or Lee Strobel's "The Case for Christ. Or Mike Licona's "The Case for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ."

The Bible has been tested time and time again and no one has ever come up with any viable proof against it's authenticity. However, even if one wants to avoid using the Bible at all, from secular historical research we can arrive at the same conclusion about who Jesus is as what the Gospels claim. Mike Licona provides all this research in his book I mentioned above.

Also Jesus did claim divinity. See the last blog I just posted on my page. I just addressed this subject of Jesus being God.

You are right to examine your beliefs and to get at their foundation. But please don't be so quick to throughout the faith of your fathers. Just because it was passed to you through the generations doesn't mean it isn't true. Keep seeking the truth.

To say that God is in all things as some kind of symbionic substance with creation reduces him to something less than God. To be holy, means to be set apart. God is holy and must be so. Thus, he is set apart from the created. However, He will dwell in those who are also set apart not by laws, but by the blood of Christ. We are then made holy.

Your premise about God is very much a New Age idea. It is not rooted in God's revealed truth or even logic.

Have you ever read any A.W. Tozer? I would recommend reading his book The Attributes of God. It is all biblically based.

The oppressed also include blacks, minorities, people of color, gays, the disabled and people of different religions. Give them all equal rights.

Here are some more commandments that we can ignore:

1. Heal the sick. All over the world. Not just America.

2. Free the oppressed. In Tibet, Burma, Palestine, America and all over the world. Free women too. Give them equal rights.

3. Help the poor. All over the world and in America too.

4. Protect the unborn.

5. Take care of the earth. All of God's art.

6. Have mercy on all. Including prisoners and criminals. No more torture or inhumane treatment of any kind. No capital punishment. We are all murderers and criminals. For example, most Americans killed 600,000 Iraqis over a lie.

7. Do justice to all. Including the weak and powerless. Including the victims of crime.

8. Try to be fair. Find the correct balance between mercy and justice.

9. Try to find the correct balance. In all things.

10. Be nonviolent. Violence should be the very last resort. Currently it is not and never has been. Maybe it was a last resort in World War II. But it was the harsh reparations after World War I that eventually led to World War II. Follow the examples of Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Aung Sung Su Chi and Corozone Aquino.

I am a little puzzled by your referring to almighty god in the feminine. To me it is simple, god is neither male nor female but it is proper to refer to almighty god as male since he created male and female and placed the male as head over the female just as he is head over all the universe. Referring to him in the masculine simply is recognizing him as supreme over all his creation.

I have come to the conclusion that all religion is of the same origin, an invention of man. Worship of the creator on the other hand, free from religion, is the correct goal.
